The set of struts also known
as the “Beethoven device”was
used to mount a single-seater
fighter plane atop a converted
Ta 154 bomber. Due to their
clumsiness and the limited
deployment radius, only 200
bomber-fighter pairs were produced.
En esta combinación que tenía el apodo
de “Beethoven” la caza monoplaza servía de
plataforma para el Ta 154 convertido en una bomba.
Debido a su difícil maniobrabilidad y su radio de empleo
limitado sólo fueron construidos 200 de esta combinación
de bombardero-caza.
The twin engine, versatile fighter plane was a favourite of German pilots and belonged to the standard night fighters of the German
Air Force. Originally built for daytime operations, the aircraft were modified for use at night. Among other things, the instrument
lighting was significantly reduced, in order to avoid blinding the pilots.
El avión de combate universal de dos motores fue muy apreciado por los pilotos alemanes y pertenecía a los cazas nocturnos estándar de la
Luftwaffe (fuerza aérea de Alemania en la época nazi). Los aviones fueron construidos para el uso diurno, pero se modificaron para ser usados
durante la noche. Entre otras medidas se redujo a un mínimo la iluminación de los instrumentos para evitar un deslumbramiento de los pilotos.
